March Madness - One Shining Moment

March Madness is my 2nd most favorite sporting time of the year, college football season being my actual favorite. In addition to the actual tournament play, I love the theme song that they play every year, "One Shining Moment" by the late Luther Vandross. The song fits so well with the emotions of the student athletes. This year for whatever reason, they haven't been playing his version. Jennifer Hudson redid the song and it seems that they moved on to her. Although I like Jennifer, I much prefer the Luther version. I think the late Teddy Pendegrass actually did the original version. Below is a link from last year if you want to see/hear it.

I am participating in a March Madness bracket challenge with a group of 21 people, most of which work at the Hyatt in Atlanta. Of course, I'm cheering for my home state of KY and picked UK to win it all. I know they are a young team, but the talent and the swagger have to count for something. Currently, I'm in a 6-way tie for 2nd place. Unfortunately, my husband picked Georgetown, so you can pretty much say he is done since they lost last night.

The games are on now, so BWYL (blog with ya later).

  1. Dama,
Things are pretty sad here in my neck of the woods. KU was supposed to go a little farther! Enjoyed the post. Good luck with the rest of your bracket.
