Newcomer to the Blog

This is my first post to the blog after much encouragement from my friend Jacqueline. As a new retiree and grandmother, much has occurred for me over the past year. I have enjoyed the fall back in Lexington by participating as a volunteer in the World Equestrian Games (WEG) and entertaining friends and family who take advantage of our "B&B" for the activities the Bluegrass has to offer its residents and visitors. My good friend from college came to visit last week and I must laugh about the activities we packed in for the 5 days she was here. These included: the WEG as a guest (not volunteer) on the final day, a tour of the Thoroughbred Center, a tour of Woodford Reserve, the races at Keeneland, a trip to the town of Midway, shopping ( of course), and seeing Secretariat on the evening before she left. She was very happy with what she experienced and for me there are always new things to learn from each experience, even if I have been there more than once.
I will provide more about becoming a grandmother and retirement in the posts to follow.
